I recently added a new FT-857D HF/VHF/UHF all-mode transceiver to the mix. Mounted to the front of the "ashtray," I can slide the 857 toward me while driving. I then can scroll through the bands using the lower left knob with my wrist resting on my knee, all without reaching for the radio or taking my eyes off the road...
